This review comes from my old friend and colleague from St.Hugh’s College, Oxford, Jacky Grayson Smith, who read history with me.
I got your book Only a Signal shown from Amazon, and I enjoyed reading it very much. In fact after a quiet start, you might say, enjoying the references to Cardiff, I found myself getting very immersed in the story and really found it quite a page turner! Had to find out what happened to our heroine!
I thought that some of the sequences describing her visits to various parts of the world were very well done, and I particularly enjoyed the ‘passages in India’ as you might say, which were very lyrical in places, I thought. If I had any criticism, it might be to say there was almost ’embarrassment of riches’ in the number of different places that Eleanor managed to visit.
